No Need to Argue is the second studio album by Irish rock band The Cranberries, released in 1994. It was the band's most successful album, and has sold about 17 million copies worldwide. It contains the band's most successful single to date, "Zombie".
The album's mood is darker than that on Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?. It shows a more mature performance by lyricist and vocalist Dolores O'Riordan, writing about war, death, love and disappointment.
Her voice is clearer, without the previous album's double and triple voice layering. In some of the songs, the band decided to take on a rockier and heavier side, using distortion and increasing the volume.
The song "Yeat's Grave" [sic] is about William Butler Yeats, and quotes one of his poems, No Second Troy. The hit song "Zombie", written by lead singer Dolores O'Riordan, is according to her about the IRA bombings in 1993 that resulted in the death of two children.

The album is the first album released by the band after their first hiatus, which started 1996. Dolores had taken that time to heal from stress-induced diseases, and also had her first child, Taylor, during this period. This last fact reflected on some of the tracks in the album, mainly on "Animal Instinct" and "You and Me".
The themes of the songs vary, from maternity and children, to divorce and child abuse. The album cover was designed by Storm Thorgerson.

The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path is The Early November's second full-length album. The triple disc concept album was released on July 11, 2006 via Drive-Thru Records. It currently has a rating of 3.6 "Great" on sputnikmusic.

Production
The recording of the album began on February 28, 2005 and took over a year until its completion due to the nature of a triple disc record, stress, Enders changing the concept of the story several times mid-record, and ultimately the lack of focus which led to a mid-recording nervous breakdown. This forced the album's release to be postponed from its original June 2005 street date to July 2006. The third disc, The Path, which was written by Enders and Jeff Kummer, and co-produced by Enders, was turned down seven times by Drive-Thru Records for quality control, although the label still were not totally satisfied with the results, before finally being approved.
Ace Enders also did the artwork for The Mother, the Mechanic and the Path, drawing up a father in a mechanics uniform named Matt, a mother and a son named Dean, for the cover and booklet.

Music and lyrical content
The album is broken down into three chapters:
The Mechanic – the proclaimed "rock" disc of the album, showcasing the heavier side of the band. According to singer/guitarist Ace Enders, The Mechanic is the group's "safe bet", the album they would have made if it had only been one disc. It represents the technical progression from its predecessor The Room's Too Cold (2003), hence the title.
The Mother – a mostly unplugged effort in the vein of The Early November's The Acoustic EP (2003) and Enders' solo CD I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business (2004). The disc focuses on the band's mellow facet, featuring a more natural sound, conveyed by the use of predominantly acoustic instruments and few effects or filters.
The Path – an audio theatre of sorts, which mixes dialogue between a young man named Dean and his psychiatrist with soft background music. The psychiatry sessions that narrate the story are interrupted by short "musical"-esque songs, also introducing the interaction of other characters. The songs cover a wide range of musical genres, including blues, country and folk.

Release

Once released, Drive-Thru Records made an effort to boost record sales with various promotion campaigns, bonus offers and price discounts. During the first weeks of sales, purchases of The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path from Best Buy were accompanied by a bonus DVD (containing the music video to "Hair" and a 35-minute making-of documentary), while Target customers were rewarded with an exclusive bonus track.
As of January 2007, the band has sold 78,669 copies of The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path.

Interventions + Lullabies is the first album and second release by American rock band, The Format. Produced and recorded by R. Walt Vincent, it was released on October 21, 2003 on Elektra Records. While the album is considered to be quite radio friendly, it did not produce any hit singles. This is possibly due to the absorption of Elektra Records into Warner Bros. Records and Atlantic Records, shortly after the album's release. The album was made 2 years after the band formed (in 2001.)
The album's title originates from the track "I'm Ready, I Am."

Elektra Records

Interventions + Lullabies was released on Elektra Records. Shortly after its release, Elektra was absorbed into Warner Bros. Records and Atlantic Records. This move allowed parent company, Warner Bros., to eliminate any artists and employees who were considered a liability, without having to fulfill contractual obligations. The Format first believed themselves to be dropped, but then learned that their contract had been picked up by Atlantic Records. Unfortunately for The Format, Atlantic had decided not to invest any time or money into Intervention + Lullabies and instead instructed them to simply record a second album similar to their debut.

Singles
The only single from Interventions + Lullabies was "The First Single."
While never officially released as singles, "Give It Up" and "Tune Out" enjoyed great success, alongside "The First Single," on Phoenix rock station, KEDJ.

Dog Problems is the second album and fourth release by American rock band, The Format. It was released on July 11, 2006, on The Vanity Label, The Format's own record label through their management company, Nettwerk.

An MP3 version of Dog Problems leaked to the internet almost two months before its official release date. In response, the entire album was immediately made available digitally for only $7.99, through the band's online music store. The album was released in Japan on October 26, 2006, via Imperial Records. To celebrate the year anniversary of the release, the entire album was made available free from June 25 to July 15, 2007.

The Vanity Label

The Vanity Label is an imprint of Nettwerk, The Format's management company, which is owned and operated by Sam Means and Nate Ruess. Releasing Dog Problems through their own label allowed the band complete creative control, while still offering them national distribution through Sony BMG. The Format has also released a 7" single for the song "Time Bomb" and an iTunes exclusive And Now I Hope You're All Right – Live in California – EP on The Vanity Label. The album is yet to be released in the UK.

Singles

"The Compromise"
"Dog Problems"
"She Doesn't Get It"

The first single from Dog Problems was "The Compromise", which was ironically written as a response to Atlantic Records asking The Format to write a "hit single" prior to dropping them. The single was selected by popular vote, via a poll on The Format's website. When asked what the second single would be during a recent interview with Absolutepunk.net, Nate Ruess responded, "It had better be 'Time Bomb'." "Time Bomb" saw a UK release on 18 August 2006 on vinyl, coinciding with the band's tour of the UK supporting The All-American Rejects.
