"Purple Pansies Portrait", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, brush, oil painting, linen pan

I just love pansies.  I always have, always will.  Years ago I owned a pressed and dried flower business -- I planted, picked, pressed/dried flowers and made them into pieces of art.  Pansies were among my favorite flowers to use.  Purple pansies rock!

"Purple Pansies Portrait", 8"x10" palette knife and brush oil painting on linen panel, sold unframed, $100 includes s/h in U.S., to be determined elsewhere at time of sale; please write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

I have set up a second website, Paintings On Glass, to showcase my paintings on glass.  There is a piece in progress as I type with sailboats.  That's a true challenge, showing proper structure and making the water look good.  Be sure to check it out, along with my new blogspot, listed below.

"Ladybugs on Yucca Flowers", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, brush oil painting on linen panel

Okay, I'm going to toot my horn on this particular painting, as I am extremely proud of it.  I wanted to go a more simple route with lighter colors and still have an impact.  Painting a light wash in oil first, then gradually adding the buds and flowers of the yucca bush, and layering on several ladybugs did the trick for me.  I hope you like it as much as I do!  And....yes, it's a great price, a great deal!  So there!!!

"Ladybugs on Yucca Flowers", 10"x8""  palette knife and brush oil painting on linen panel, sold unframed, $100 includes s/h in U.S., to be determined elsewhere at time of sale; please write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Mesa Verde: Panaromic View", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, brush, oil painting on gessoed panel

Long a favorite place to visit, down in the southwestern corner of Colorado, Mesa Verde is almost hidden upon first approach.  It has cliff dwellings nestled into an opening which you can walk through, climb up ladders, peer down into kivas -- all sorts of interesting opportunities to explored the now defunct Anasazi civilization dwellings.  I'd highly recommend visiting there.  Possibly this is needless to say, but it certainly was a challenge to paint!

"Mesa Verde: Panaromic View", 11"x14"  palette knife and brush oil painting on gessoed panel, sold unframed, $195 plus s/h to be determined at time of sale; please write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Solo Act: Red Indian Paintbrush", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, brush, oil painting on gessoed panel

I've been ill with a sinus infection this last week or so -- miserably ill.  I know, being sick is the body's way of saying "slow down" -- and I saw "whatever!"  That said, here is the gift to myself, a fun and favorite flower of mine to paint, the Indian paintbrush which grows wild in the West and Southwest parts of the U.S.  A big "cheer me up" to myself!

"Solo Act: Red Indian Paintbrush", 16"x12" palette knife and brush oil painting on gessoed panel, sold unframed, $215 plus s/h to be determined at time of sale; please write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Shoreline Sunset", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, oil painting, linen panel

It's snowing here in Colorado.  Again.  Just when we had a strong whiff of spring, here comes the white stuff falling from the sky.  Go figure.  I am so over winter and yet it's been a relatively mild one here so I know that I have no business complaining.

It seems to be more fruitful to remember the hot summer nights with the beautiful sunsets along the shoreline....yes, past tense for now, but hopefully more shoreline sunsets await me.

"Shoreline Sunset", palette knife/brush oil painting on 8"x10" linen panel, $100 includes s/h in U.S., contact me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com and I'll mail you a Paypal invoice -- s/h in other locations to be determined at time of sale, of course.

"Charismatic Sunset", by Karla Nolan, palette knife, brush, oil painting, miniature, linen panel

I believe that some sunsets have charisma -- multiple layers of color, movement, and so on.  This piece of artwork took on a life of it's own, is a bit textured, lots of hues, and of course over my beloved Rocky Mountains.  What a hoot!

"Charismatic Sunset", palette knife/brush oil painting on 4x6" linen panel, $40 includes s/h in U.S., contact me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com and I'll mail you a Paypal invoice -- s/h in other locations to be determined at time of sale, of course.
